Top Six NFC Teams (NFC Playoff Teams)

1.Vikings
I think the Minnesota Vikings are the best team in the NFC right now. With Brett Favre leading the offense and passing all over defenses, and Adrian Peterson backing him up with his tremendous running game. Dont forget about the dominant defense that shuts down opposing teams. The Vikings cant be stopped and I think they are surely Playoff and even Superbowl contenders this year.

2.Saints
Drew Brees and the Saints are right behind the Vikings in my rankings, although the Saints have a better record, I still think the Saints are second best in the NFC but they still are a major contender for the superbowl as well.

3.Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are number three in my rankings because I believe that they are going to win the NFC East. I dont really think they are that good they are just good enough to beat the Giants, Eagles and Redskins.

4.Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have actually surprised me thus far, at first I didnt think they were going to do good this year, I didnt think Kurt Warner had it in him to lead the Cardinals to the playoffs this year, but after seeing them win a couple of big games I think they have a very good chance of making the playoffs again this year.

5.Giants
Although the Giants are on a losing streak I think they will be able to fix theyre problems and win a spot in the wildcard, they will have to battle it out with the Eagles, but in the end I believe the Giants will end up on top, especially with the Eagles loss of Brian Westbrook.

6. 49ers
After a lot of thought I picked the 49ers as the last team making it into the NFC playoffs this year. At the moment they are 4-5 and right in the race for the playoffs. I think the 49ers have turned it around and are going to finish this season 10-6 or 9-7, beating the Packers and Eagles and putting themselves in the last spot of the wildcard.

NFL Week 11: Top 3 Sunday Games to Watch

1. Indianapolis @ Baltimore
Peyton Manning and the 9-0 Colts seek to continue their winning streak against the Baltimore Ravens who are fighting to get themselves a spot in the playoffs. As both teams come off of a win and Baltimore has shown they can play with the big dogs it looks like this is going to be a game you are going to want to see.
Score prediction- Colts-30 Baltimore-23

2. San Fransisco @ Green Bay
Both the 49ers and the Packers are fighting to stay in the playoff race in this week 11 matchup. The 49ers, only two games behind the Cardinals and coming off a good win against the Bears on monday night need this win to stay within reach of the division title in the NFC West. And Aaron Rodgers and the Packers coming off a huge win against Dallas last week, hope to get another good win Sunday and to get one step closer to a playoff spot come January.
Score prediction- 49ers-23 Green Bay-20

3. San Diego @ Denver
This I believe is THE game to watch, with the Chargers and the Broncos tied for first in the AFC West this is going to be an intense battle for dominance in their division. For either teams a loss could prove to be fatal to their playoff hopes. The Broncos, coming off a third straight loss last week to the Redskins, need this win to end their streak and put themselves back on top of their division. While on the other hand, the Chargers coming off their fourth straight win, hope to make it five straight and even things up between them and the Broncos.
Score prediction- Broncos-34 Chargers-24

Day one at Training camp. Hell.

This morning when I woke up at 5:50 i had no idea what was waiting for me on the football field but I wish I did know, today was one of the toughest days I have ever experienced. 6:15-arrive at the locker room, 6:20-weigh in at the trainer and at 6:40when we started the streches, I was very excited. After training in the weight room for all of winter and half of summer, Football season was finally starting. After streching we move on to walking streches, we start with lunges, then high kicks, then knee pull ups, then a 30 yard back peddle, which leads to 30 yard karaokes and we end with four thirty yard sprints. I have to admit, I havent been training stamina much this summer and after finishing those 30 yarders I was already tired, I had no clue what was in store for me. After finishing streches we broke off into individual groups based on position. D-Linemen went to the dummys, Defensive backs went to the middle of the field and linebackers went to the footwork drills. Since my position is Quarterback I didnt really know where to go today, so I drifted to the Dummys with the lineman. After about 45 minutes of explosion drills off the ball and rip moves around dummies and driving the dummies we started team practice. Let me clue you in on something, in high school football you have to practice 3 days with just a helmet, then 2 days with helmet and shoulder pads than you can do full pads and contact. Since today was the fourth day of practice and only my 1st day with a helmet,(it was lack of a physical examination form that held me back)everyone else had helmet and shoulder pads except for me and a few others. And because of this I had to watch the defense do plays without going in once since they were doing semi contact. After about an hour of sitting around with about ten other people watching the drill our first practice was over... At least that's what I thought, in actuality every day after the first of our practices we do sprints. These are no ordinary sprints though these are what we call the thousands. They start easy enough, first, ten ten yard sprints, then we do eight twenty yarders, then we had to go back to ten because of failure to cooperate, so we start over, ten ten yard sprints, then we go to eight 20 yard sprints, then we skip 30 and do 6 40 yard sprints. then we do 4 50 yard sprints, then 2 60 yarders and we finish with one 75 yard sprint. Running full speed toward the coach 75 yards away one thought kept running through my mind, I should just lie down on the grass and die. But I didnt, and thats a good thing because we just finished our first practice of the day. Now back to the locker room where we get half an hour to eat and get back onto the field ready for the second practice. This next practice was easy compared to the first, no sprints and half as long. And now were on offense. Again we split into individual groups, I of course went with the Quarterbacks to warm up. After about 20 minutes of individual work the Qbs and the wide recievers combined and started passing. Then, after another half hour we started plays. Unfortunately I only got to run one play in which I fumbled with the snap, and after that play the coaches didnt let JV run anymore plays because there was too much talking and messing around going on. So after watching varsity run plays against imaginary players and dummies for 45 minutes second practice was over, this time for real. But that doesnt mean we can go home just yet, we still have to weigh out with the trainer, then we split into two groups. One goes into the wieght room to work out, while the other goes to the class room to learn strategy and plays, then they switch. So after 30 minutes in the class and 30 minutes in the weight room I could finally go home. Only to shower, and fall asleep dreading tomorrows thousand.

My new idea

On August 12th I am going to start attending my high school football teams training camp. Training camp lasts until early september when school starts and we have our first game. For the month that I am in training camp i am going to be blogging to you guys about it. I will tell you about my struggles and hopes and fears and everything that happens there. Each day starts at about 9 am sharp and after three hours of intense training we have an hour break to rest and then another 3 hour training period begins. Although practice will be monday through saturday, I am only going to be blogging Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I hope you enjoy this new segment.
P.S- the idea was taken from my brother who is doing a similar thing on this website you should check it out- http://wiki.reachforthewall.com/User:singhi/Diving_Back_In

Tony Dungy

This next post is a tribute to one of my favorite coaches of all time, Tony Dungy.
Tony Dungy was one of the best coaches to ever coach in the NFL. Retiring this year, Dungy has retired holding many coaching records. Starting out his career as a defensive back coach of the Steelers in 1982 Dungy was soon promoted to defensive coordinator in 1984. After five more years with the Steelers, Dungy left and became the defensive back coach in Kansas City. Three years later Tony Dungy became the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, for the four years Dungy stayed in Minnesota their defense was ranked number one. In 1996, Tony finally achieved his goal of becoming a head coach when he was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the 6years Dungy was coach of the Bucs, they went to the playoffs 4 times. When 2002 came around, the Buccaneers fired Dungy who was soon hired by the defensively challenged Indianapolis Colts. Along with taking the Colts to the playoffs every year since he was hired, setting a record for most consecutive playoff appearances by a head coach with 10, Tony Dungy and the Colts finally managed to win the Superbowl in January of 2007 against the Chicago Bears. Dungy became the first African-American coach to win a Superbowl. Tony Dungy retired from coaching in the NFL on January 12, 2009. Tony Dungy will always be remembered as one of the best coaches to coach in the NFL.
